I’m inspired by color that vibrates, an atomization of parts, and a connected, visual explosiveness.
One of my earliest, visceral memories from childhood is of witnessing Kīlauea erupt at night when I was three years old.
Volcanoes are one of many themes/symbols I return to often in my work. I see them as creative agents going through various states of fragmentation and change, as guardians of spiritual transmutation and as reminders of alchemical potential.
Paige Clark is a painter who lives and works in Seattle, Washington. She has a BFA in Painting from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and an MFA from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California.
